Department of Geomatics

The Department of Geomatics was established on October 1, 2007 as a result of the merger of the Department of Land Information System and the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography. It is one of five departments in the Faculty of Minining Surveying and Enviromental Engineering at AGH University of Science and Technology.

20 academics and teaching staff are currently employed in the Departmet, i.e:
- 6 habilitated doctors,
- 10 PhDs,
- 4 Master.

There are, also, two persons employed in the administration.

The academic staff and PhD students publish yearly several dozen scientific publications of various forms and take active part in conferences in Poland and abroad.

The Department of Geomatics provides courses for:
- first cycle studies: 'geodesy and cartography' (full-time and extramural in Cracow and extramural in Non-resident Didactic Centre in Ruda Śląska),
- second cycle studies (full-time and extramural in Cracow): 'geodesy and cartography' and 'environmental engineering',
- doctoral studies (full-time in Cracow),
- postgraduate studies (on weekends in Cracow).
